Mangwon Hangang Park

망원한강공원

A 7.4 km stretch of the north bank between Wonhyo Bridge and Seongsan Bridge. Its flood plain is open lawn with long sightlines, and downstream of Seongsan Bridge sits Seoul Battleship Park, built around three decommissioned naval vessels. Mangwon is not on the operator's list of the river's twelve bicycle-hire points, so a bike has to be brought here or hired in another district.

Accessibility and facilities

Seoul Battleship Park, downstream of Seongsan Bridge on the north side, was the city's first naval theme park, built around three decommissioned vessels including a Chamsuri patrol boat and a submarine. The operator keeps separate visitor information for it and publishes no admission price on this page.

The flood plain is laid to lawn, which the operator gives as the reason the outlook is so open, with a well-organised set of paths across it. The cycle path runs 7.2 km, of which 3.1 km is shared with pedestrians and 2.1 km with vehicles.

On the water there is a training centre used for survival-swimming instruction, along with a floating restaurant and café and hire of yachts, pedal boats, motorboats and kayaks. The Mangwon slipway is listed as unavailable from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2028. The operator names Seoul Battleship Park, the Mangwon green walk, Mangwonjeong pavilion and the Maponaru sculpture as the district's landmarks.

The operator lists the park's amenities as two shops, four car parks, two playgrounds, 11 toilets and drinking fountains.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hire a bicycle here?

No. The operator's list of Hangang park bicycle-hire points runs to twelve, and Mangwon is not on it. On the north bank the hire points are at Ttukseom, Ichon and Nanji, so to use the 7.2 km of cycle path here you need to bring a bike or ride in from another district.

Can I launch a boat from the Mangwon slipway?

Not at the moment. The operator lists the Mangwon slipway — the ramp used to get craft down to the water — as unavailable from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2028. The district's other water facilities are unaffected: the training centre used for survival-swimming instruction, and hire of yachts, pedal boats, motorboats and kayaks.

Is Seoul Battleship Park free?

The Hangang park itself is free, but Seoul Battleship Park is run with its own visitor information and the operator publishes no price for it on this page. Check the battleship park's own notice before you go.

  • Enjoying the Han River Parks

"The Han River park" is eleven parks, not one. Which district you pick decides what you can actually do that day, and that is where most trips go wrong.
