Travel from Dongdaegu Station to Cheongna Hill
Take metro line 1 from Dongdaegu Station and change to line 2 at Banwoldang. From Cheongna Hill Station, continue into the starting area of Modern-History Alley Course 2.
This itinerary uses only walking and the metro. Do not treat walking times from a map app or fixed train journey times as official figures; check the service information and station exits for your date.
Walk Modern-History Alley Course 2 as one stop
Modern-History Alley Course 2 runs from Cheongna Hill through the March First Independence Movement Road, Gyesan Cathedral, the houses of Yi Sang-hwa and Seo Sang-don, and the Yangnyeongsi area. Daegu City lists the route as 1.64 km long.
The cathedral and houses along the course keep their own operating arrangements. An accessible street route does not mean that every indoor facility is open, so check the current information for any building you intend to enter.
Treat Seomun Market and its night market separately
After finishing the alley course, return to Cheongna Hill Station and take metro line 3 to Seomun Market Station. The daytime market and night market follow different days and hours, so do not combine their schedules.
The daytime market remains an option when the night market is not operating, but it also has regular closure days. Check the hours panel before relying on the market for your visiting date.

Continue from Dongseong-ro to Kim Kwang-seok Street
Travel from Seomun Market to Banwoldang and walk through Dongseong-ro. The street has no shared opening schedule, so check individual businesses if shopping or an indoor visit is part of your plan.
For the final stop, take metro line 2 from Banwoldang to Kyungpook National University Hospital Station and walk along Kim Kwang-seok Street. To return to Dongdaegu Station afterwards, take line 2 back to Banwoldang and change to line 1.
If it rains or a closure affects the route
In heavy rain, shorten the outdoor sections of the modern-history alleys and Kim Kwang-seok Street and spend more time inside Seomun Market. This alternative is not available on a regular market closure day, so check your date first.
On a Monday, individual facilities along the alley course and some restaurants may be closed. Check the street route separately from the indoor places along it.
Keep Apsan as a separate itinerary
Apsan Observatory and the Apsan Cable Car are not included in this central-city route. Cable-car operation depends on weather, day and seasonal closing times, so plan Apsan as a separate evening half-day rather than fixing it to the end of this itinerary.
