Namsangol Hanok Village

Five hanok moved onto the northern slope of Namsan beside Chungmuro Station, with a traditional garden laid around them. The houses open Tuesday to Sunday and rest on Mondays; closing time differs by an hour between summer and winter. There is nothing to pay at the gate.

Myeongdong Kyoja

A kalguksu house open since 1966. The menu runs to four dishes and it takes no reservations. The main branch moved to Toegye-ro in 2026 and now stands in front of exit 8 of Myeongdong Station.

Can I go up without paying?

Yes. There is a free shuttle bus between Myeongdong Station and the cable car station, a free inclined elevator called Namsan Ormi, and the plaza at the foot of the tower has no admission charge. Only the observatory is ticketed.

Where does the free shuttle bus leave from?

It runs between Myeongdong Station and the Namsan Cable Car car park every 30 minutes, first at 12:00 and last at 20:30 timed from the car park. It is about a 10-minute walk from the car park to Myeongdong Station exit 1.
