Ttukseom Hangang Park

뚝섬한강공원

A Hangang park on the Jayang-dong riverside, and among the simplest of them to walk into — an exit of Jayang station on Line 7 opens straight onto the park.

Language

The Jabeolle culture complex at Ttukseom Hangang Park: a white streamlined building pierced with round windows, resting on splayed columns and curving along the riverside with external stairways clamped to its flank. People and a dog cross the shaded paved plaza beneath it, and the Han River with the apartment blocks of the far bank shows through the opening at left.

Accessibility and facilities

The operator describes this stretch as a riverside pleasure ground that was known as such before the Hangang parks were laid out at all. It runs 11.5 km and covers 825,000 m², from Jungnangcheon Bridge to the city boundary.

Ttukseom Jabeolle is a building joined by a walkway to Exit 3 of Ttukseom Resort station on Line 7. Hangang Playplace occupies its first and third floors and Kkumteulmaru, a city-run children's café, its second. The outdoor pool is upstream of Exit 2, takes 3,500 people and opens each summer; the sledding hill is built inside the same pool and opens only in winter.

On the water there is a windsurfing site and Arirang House, with a convenience store, a floating café, a food court and a restaurant, duck boats and motorboats, a water training ground and a sightseeing water taxi. The sports facilities are a football pitch, basketball courts including two for disabled players, an outdoor ssireum ring, badminton and jokgu courts, a gateball court, an X-games area, fitness equipment and tennis courts; the climbing wall is used by written application. The cycle route runs 18.6 km, of which 16.6 km is cycle path and 2 km shared with vehicles, and the rental point is on the plaza beside Exits 2 and 3. The nature study garden upstream of the pool holds 88 species of tree, 70 of perennial, and a rose garden.

The facilities the operator lists are 3 shops (convenience stores), 4 car parks, 2 children's playgrounds, 18 toilet blocks, and drinking fountains, shade canopies and seating.
