The Asia Culture Center is a national cultural complex that operates the former Jeonnam Provincial Office buildings as a space known in Korean as 민주평화교류원. All facilities other than this ACC space are underground. Indoor facilities are open 10:00–18:00 and outdoor facilities 06:00–22:00. Indoor facilities close on Mondays, while the official information does not say whether the outdoor hours apply on Mondays.

Mudeungsan National Park

Is there an admission fee?

There is no single ticket. The Asia Culture Museum is free; the Creation Agency's exhibitions are priced individually and you have to check the page for the exhibition you want. Performances and courses are priced separately again.

Is it a wasted trip on a Monday?

The ACC's indoor facilities close on Mondays. Its official information lists outdoor-facility hours separately as 06:00–22:00, but does not say whether those hours apply on Mondays. Check the day's operating notice before a Monday visit.

Do the opening times ever change?

The centre states that its opening times can shift with the performance, exhibition, event and education schedule. If you are going for one particular space, check that day's programme before you set out.

What if the Monday is a public holiday?

It opens that Monday and closes instead on the first weekday after the holiday.

Why does the site itself matter?

Gwangju's official May 18 archive describes the former Jeonnam Provincial Office as the headquarters of the May 18 Democratic Uprising and the site of its final resistance. The restored former provincial office buildings formally opened in May 2026 as an ACC space known in Korean as 민주평화교류원.
