Incheon Munhak Stadium

인천문학경기장 주경기장

The football main stadium built for the 2002 World Cup — a different building from the baseball park inside the same complex. It is outside central Seoul, but Munhak Stadium station on the Incheon subway sits on the site.

Language

Incheon Munhak Stadium on the wooded slope of Munhaksan. Its white roof rises in a row of sail-like peaks along the stand, and out-of-focus cosmos flowers fill the bottom of the frame.

It is free, it is eight minutes from a subway exit, and it holds a leaf of the 42-line Gutenberg Bible. The building was designed to lie flat against the park rather than stand apart from it, which is why it does not look like a museum from outside.
