Heonilleung Royal Tombs
헌릉과 인릉
Heonneung, King Taejong’s tomb, carries twice the stone figures of any other royal tomb, following the Goryeo precedent of King Gongmin’s tomb. It is the reference point if you want to compare tomb statuary.

What to see
Inneung
Inneung is the tomb of Sunjo, the 23rd king of Joseon, and his queen Sunwon of the Kim clan. It takes the joint-burial form, king and queen together under a single mound, and follows the right-above-left rule, so seen from the front Sunjo lies on the left and Queen Sunwon on the right. Most of the stone objects now on the mound were taken up from Sejong's former Yeongneung and from the former Huireung of Queen Janggyeong, Jungjong's second queen, and recut for use here.

Heonneung
Heonneung is the tomb of Taejong, the 3rd king of Joseon, and his queen Wongyeong of the Min clan. It takes the twin-mound form, the two mounds set side by side inside one curved screen wall: seen from the front, the king lies on the left (west) and the queen on the right (east). Its civil and military figures, stone horses, sheep and tigers are set out in double the number of any other royal tomb, following the arrangement of the Goryeo tombs of King Gongmin and Princess Noguk. Below the mound stands a memorial stele designated a Treasure.
