Place information

Korean name
해운대해수욕장
Address
264 Haeundaehaebyeon-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan
Hours notes
The beach itself has no opening or closing time. Bathing does: outside the swimming season - which the district defines by its complement, 1 September to 31 May - entering the water is prohibited from 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise. Those bounds move with the sun rather than the clock, so they are held here rather than as hours rules. The district's front page also carries a live "bathing possible" indicator for Haeundae and Songjeong, which is the closest thing to a timetable this beach publishes.

Frequently asked questions

Is Haeundae Beach free?

Yes. It is a public beach with no admission and no closing hour. Seasonal facilities and rentals have their own charges.

When can you swim at Haeundae?

During the official season set by Haeundae-gu each year, when lifeguards and marked zones are in place. The dates change annually, so check the district's own information rather than a past schedule.

Is it worth visiting in winter?

Yes, as a walk rather than a swim. The sand and promenade are open all year; only the supervised swimming operation is seasonal.

What else is within walking distance?

Dongbaekseom island at the western end, Busan Aquarium on the sand, and the Busan X the SKY observatory in the LCT tower at the eastern end.

How do I get there?

Haeundae Station on Busan Metro Line 2, a short walk from the beach. The address is 264 Haeundaehaebyeon-ro, Haeundae-gu.
