Dongdaemun Design Plaza

동대문디자인플라자

It closes three days a year and otherwise runs 10:00 to 20:00, but that figure covers the site, not what is inside it — each hall keeps its own hours according to whatever exhibition is running. Check the programme, not the building.

Frequently asked questions

What are DDP's opening hours?

The site runs 10:00 to 20:00. Individual halls — the Art Hall, the Museum and the Design Lab — keep hours set by whatever exhibition is running, so check the programme rather than the building. The information desk is open 10:00 to 21:00.

Is there an admission fee?

Not for the site. Walking the grounds and the outdoor ramps is free. Individual exhibitions set their own ticket prices.

How much is parking?

400 won per 5 minutes, so 4,800 won an hour, capped at 50,000 won a day. Spending over 20,000 won at DDP earns up to an hour free and over 50,000 won up to two hours; the shop registers it for you.

What is Seoullight DDP?

A media-art festival projected onto the building's curved facade, holding a Guinness World Record for the largest 3D-mapping display on a free-form building. It drew 1.92 million visitors in 2025 and runs in seasons rather than continuously.

How long should I allow?

About two hours. Twenty minutes of that is the walk around the outside, which is the part most worth doing.
