Taekwondowon
태권도원
A site built for taekwondo and nothing else, run by the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. A whole valley below Baegunsan on the Deogyusan ridge is given over to it, holding a competition arena, the T1 theatre, the National Taekwondo Museum, the Doyakgwan lodging block and an observatory. At 2,314,000 square metres it runs its own shuttle bus inside the grounds. For a visitor who has never trained, the draw is the demonstrations and the short experience classes rather than the facilities themselves; the approach is a local bus toward Seolcheon from Muju bus terminal.

Accessibility and facilities
The shuttle bus around the grounds and the car parks are free to use. The site holds Taekwonjeon, Myeongingwan, Ilyeoheon and the Taekwonru pavilion in its symbolic quarter, an arena and a theatre, the Doyakgwan lodging block, trainee canteens and a café, a gym and showers, a convenience store and the shuttle; on the visiting side there are the Yap! experience hall, the National Taekwondo Museum, trekking routes, and Playone with its monorail and viewing deck.

Does it cost anything to get in?
The operator states that both entry to Taekwondowon and admission to the National Taekwondo Museum are free, as are the shuttle bus around the grounds and the parking. What you pay for is the standing demonstration performance, at 10,000 won, and the sessions at the Yap! experience hall.
