Oryukdo
오륙도
The rock islets standing where the South Sea meets the East Sea, seen from the headland park and its glass-floored skywalk rather than from the water. You do not land on them — you stand at the cliff edge — and the skywalk shuts in snow, rain or high wind.

History
The "mountains and rivers" section of the Dongnae-bu ji, a 1740 gazetteer, records that Oryukdo was named because six peaks appear from the east and five from the west. Records say that Jang Bo-go used the sea route past the islands for trade during the Silla period; it remains one of the main maritime gateways into Korea. Many poems and songs about Oryukdo have been passed down.

What to see
The sequence of five islands
From Seungdumal, the islands run south-southeast in the order Usakdo, Suriseom, Songgotseom, Gulseom and Deungdaeseom. At high tide, Usakdo divides into Bangpaeseom and Solseom.
Coastal formations
Each island has near-vertical coastal cliffs, wave-cut platforms formed by erosion, and sea caves of various shapes.
