- The island has no hours of its own — the ferry timetable is the clock. The times above are the first and last sailings; between them boats run every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 09:00, every 10 to 20 minutes from 09:00 to 18:00, and every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 21:00, with a crossing of about 5 minutes. Two 2026 extensions are published: from 17 July to 23 August the last boat runs at 21:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before a public holiday, and from 18 September to 22 November the first boat is 07:30 every day with a 21:30 last boat on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. The operator adds that sailing times can change with conditions, with extensions in the blossom, holiday and autumn-foliage seasons. The motorboat departs only with two or more passengers and carries up to five.

A twenty-minute walk from the Nami Island wharf and the second stop on the county shuttle, so it is the cheapest thing to add to a Nami day. Its garden, Ihwawon, charges separately, and the flower-festival admission only applies while a festival is on.
The Garden of Morning Calm
The only place in this guide whose operator publishes a page for each of the four seasons, and it means it: the hours themselves change for a third of the year, when the winter light festival pushes closing time to 21:00.

Is Nami Island in Gangwon or Gyeonggi?
Both, in a sense. The island is in Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon, Gangwon State. The wharf where tickets are sold is in Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, 1.3 km away.
Is the annual passport worth it?
It breaks even on the fourth visit: 69,000 won against a 19,000 standard fare. The senior passport is 59,000 against a 16,000 fare, which also breaks even on the fourth.
How do I get from Nami Island to the Garden of Morning Calm?
The Gapyeong shuttle, changing at Petite France. Leaving Nami at 09:05 puts you at the arboretum at 10:12, and the last connection back leaves the arboretum at 17:05. The shuttle does not run on Wednesdays unless it is a public holiday.
