Jamwon Hangang Park
잠원한강공원
A 5.4 km stretch of the south bank running from Yeongdong Bridge past Dongho and Hannam bridges to Banpo Bridge. It backs onto Apgujeong-dong and Sinsa-dong, yet getting in still means a walk of about fifteen minutes from the subway to an underpass. The outdoor pool in summer and the sledding hill in winter occupy the same ground, trading places with the season, and a 5.4 km cycle path runs the length of the district.

Accessibility and facilities
The outdoor pool, downstream of Hannam Bridge on the south side, holds 3,000 people — though in 2026 the operator listed it as closed for remodelling and it did not open; the sledding hill is built inside it and opens only in winter. The cycle path is 5.4 km long, and the hire point stands in front of the second Jamwon kiosk, upstream of Hannam Bridge.
The Hangang Haechi Car, a circular shuttle, runs from exit 2 of Dongjak station to Sevit Islands at Banpo Hangang Park and Seoul Wave at Jamwon Hangang Park. The operator gives its season as May to November, every twenty minutes with no closing day, 14:00–20:00 Monday to Friday and 11:00–20:00 at weekends and on public holidays, with a break from 16:00 to 17:00.
The eco-themed playground is built around renewable energy — a climate play structure, solar panels, a wind turbine and pedal-powered exercise machines. On the water there is waterskiing, motorboating, banana boats, wakeboarding and yachting, plus a floating café, restaurant and exhibition space. The tennis courts here are clay and floodlit, which is unusual on the river.
The operator lists the park's amenities as three shops, six car parks, nine toilets, one playground and drinking fountains.

Summer
The outdoor pool
The outdoor pool downstream of Hannam Bridge holds 3,000 people. It did not open in 2026 — the operator lists it as closed for remodelling and carries a separate closure notice for it.
Winter
The sledding hill
In winter a sledding hill stands on the same ground the pool occupies. There are only three on the river — Ttukseom, Jamwon and Yeouido — and all three are built on their park's pool site. The most recent season, 2025–26, ran from 31 December 2025 to 18 February 2026 with no closing day, 10:00–17:00 (the slopes shut from 13:00 to 14:00 for surface maintenance), at 6,000 won for all ages. Jamwon is the only one of the three that also runs at night, staying open until 20:00. Operation is suspended when Seoul issues fine-dust emergency measures, and on 13 February 2026 all three closed for the day on that account. The operator posts each season's notice around December, so check it for the winter you are going.
Frequently asked questions
How far is the walk from the subway?
About 15 minutes from exit 4 of Jamwon station to the Jamwon underpass, which is the shortest. From exit 5 at Sinsa and exit 6 at Apgujeong it is roughly 15 to 20 minutes. You can only get in through an underpass beneath the expressway, so this takes longer than at the districts where a station exit opens onto the park.
Is there a way to reach Banpo Hangang Park without walking?
The Hangang Haechi Car does a loop between Dongjak station, Sevit Islands at Banpo Hangang Park and Seoul Wave here at Jamwon. The operator gives the season as May to November, running every twenty minutes with no closing day, 14:00–20:00 Monday to Friday and 11:00–20:00 at weekends and on public holidays, apart from a break between 16:00 and 17:00.
Can I hire a bicycle?
There is a hire point in front of the second Jamwon kiosk, upstream of Hannam Bridge on the south side. It is one of the smaller ones, so it closes for the winter from November to February and runs 11:00–20:00 from March to October. A standard single bike is 3,300 won an hour.
