Halla Arboretum
한라수목원
A provincial arboretum in Yeon-dong on the Jeju City side of the island, at the foot of Gwangi Oreum beside Route 1100, planted with some 1,100 species of Jeju natives and subtropical plants. Its outdoor grounds and paths stay open all year. A 1.7 km circuit climbs most of the way up an oreum, which makes this one of the few places a traveller staying in Jeju City without a car can see volcanic ground and island vegetation inside an hour.

The outdoor grounds and paths are open at all times, though the arboretum separately states that the outdoor walking paths may be used until 23:00. The rare-plant and orchid halls are sometimes kept shut when the arboretum needs them closed for upkeep.

A light car pays 500 won; beyond the first two hours each further 30 minutes costs 500 won for a small car and 300 won for a light one. The first ten minutes are free, and any part of a 30-minute block counts as a full one. The charge applies 09:00–18:00 from March to November and 09:00–17:00 from December to February, and a car parked before 09:00 is billed from 09:00. |
